Once the door has been firmly closed and locked, it’s a lot easier to walk away. You know there’s a definite boundary that’s not meant to be transgressed again.

On the other hand, an open door is an indefinite ending. The mystery, the unfinished story, lures your curiosity. No matter how much you try to disconnect,  no matter how much you think your thoughts have fizzled, it’s always possible to reignite the passion that draws you back.
